(1836-1837, 1841-1850), missionary in Brazil (1837-1840), editor of Methodist Sunday School publications (1844-1856), professor of practical theology, Garrett Biblical Institute, Evanston, Ill., (1856-1871) and Drew Theological Seminary, Madison, N.J., (1871-1881), and with Methodist Board of Education (from 1880); student's cipher and commonplace book (1831-1833); diary (1844-1902) of Kidder's wife, Harriette (Smith) Kidder (1816-1915), reflecting her extensive involvement in Methodism, both as a minister's wife and independently, her interest in social concerns, particularly temperance, and travels with her husband, including England and Europe (1852-1853); and autograph book (1836-1838) of Mrs. Kidder.
